    The complete IAR Embedded Workbench® for Arm® with powerful compiler and debugging capabilities is now available for automotive software developers using the new S32M2 device.

    The S32M2 is a highly integrated system-in-package based on the Arm® Cortex®-M microcontroller core. The new family is fully software compatible with NXP’s S32K MCU products, but adds high-voltage analogue functionality and high efficiency for vehicle applications such as pumps, fans, sunroof and seat positions, seatbelt pretensioners, or boot openers. the S32M2 system-on-package integrates automotive-compliant and application-focused features such as a voltage regulator that operates directly from the 12 V automotive battery power supply, physical and electrical communication interfaces (LIN or CAN), a voltage regulator, and a physical and electrical communication interface. communication interface (LIN or CAN FD), a MOSFET gate pre-driver for motor control, and non-volatile memory from 128KB to 1MB reduces overall component count. This enables OEMs to reduce printed circuit board (PCB) footprint, minimise design risk, cut bill of materials costs and accelerate time to market.
