Sleep paralysis is a feeling of being conscious or inability to move your body that occurs right after falling asleep or waking up. It is caused by a disconnected mind and body, major depression, stress, tiredness, and anxiety disorders, which happen during sleep. The most common symptoms of sleep paralysis are awake, inability to move, overwhelming fear and dread, chest pressure, difficulty breathing, feeling of being watched, lucidity, additional sounds, temperature changes, bed motion, muscle aches, etc. There are some basic treatments for sleep paralysis, such as avoiding sleeping on your back, improving sleep habits, reducing your caffeine before you go to bed, treating any mental health problems, etc.
